Description
1. GENERAL ORIENTATION As an individualing term, the name of a person (PN) in biblical Hebrew prose is often set in apposition with another term that assigns the PN referent to a particular class of social entities, a term which I shall accordingly designate "class noun" (CN). (2) The purpose of so assigning the PN referent to a particular group of social actors is to make textually salient information about the PN referent deemed relevant in the context. Two particular forms of relevance, not necessarily mutually exclusive, most obviously come into question.
